The heritage-listed Toowoomba City Hall was built in 1900 and remains a stately reminder of the importance of this regional town at the turn of the century.

In 2017, the master craftsmen at McMillan Heritage Plastering were enlisted as the heritage-plastering subcontractor for the refurbishment of the Toowoomba City Hall’s art deco theatre. Considerable plaster conservation works were carried out to the theatre’s original art deco ceilings including the conservation of traditional art deco ornamental mouldings. McMillan Heritage Plastering also completed traditional decorative plastering works to the theatre proscenium including the restoration of enriched plaster friezes, along with the production and installation of new fibrous plaster panels for the proscenium rebuild.
